Blue Phantom Chronicles - Transport - Armed Transport
The GT-5000 Transport series is ShiCon Dynamics’ new line of state-of-the-art armed transports bridging the gap between yachts and corvettes. With a length of approximately 60 meters this combat vehicle adapts the features, the speed and and combatability of the successful BRX-Yacht series while allowing for much larger space and cargo capacities.
The GT-5000 requires a crew of 2-4 but can in total support up to 18 more personnel and staff.
As is common with ShiCon's designs, the stock variant offers numerous upgrade interfaces and options for customizations. In the case of the GT-Series the company itself produced numerous prefabricated various customization and upgrade packages to serve various purposes, including weaponry and armor upgrades, special stealth plating, engine and flight performance upgrades and others. Whereas the stock GT-5000 version is moderately armored and equipped with both offensive and defensive weaponry, numerous stock modifications were developed to further expand the transport’s capabilities into various directions such as speed, heavy combat and stealth.

"Nighthawk" Stealth Variant
This variant is configured for stealth operations. It is most distinguishable by its jet-black plating and glowing red edges, giving the ship a very agressive and menacing look. This modified version has also been outfitted with a full quartet of additional thrusters, greatly increasing the ship’s speed.
The Nighthawk became a mobile base of Operations for Phantom Squadron during a covert mission to infiltrate and neutralize a dangerous cult on the Codian Moon.
The Corsair
The GTX has been modified for the sole purpose of combat, fit with warhead launchers, two additional forward cannons and a third turret. To further increase the ship’s performance, a pair of additional engines and extended wings for stabilization has been added.
The Corsair became the personal Ship of Vince Trageton and Shiromy Gitann after retiring from governing the Phoenix Systems Alliance. Trageton aquired this ship after passing the Barracuda on to their daughter Kyaara.
Dev notes & Origins
The GT-Series evolved from an attempt to make a formal successor to the BR-7 Shuttle series, a more combat-oriented variant. The result, going by the name of BRX-900, soon appeared too small for me so I scaled it up to be double in length. Since this also meant a change of class I came up with the GT-Series.
HD Remake
I've started work on a HD remake, which will merge all variants into one OPT and use profiles. Another task will be to find a way to have the GTX' wings fold up when touched down. Right now, standing on its wing tips does look kinda weird. The goal should be to have all 3 versions touch down at the same hight.
With the recent realization of the BR-7 Series being too small, I've also reviewed the GT-5000 and other transports. Turns out, this one is too small as well to accommodate the interior I had intended for it. Therefore I'm scaling it up from 58 to 64 meters length.
