Ty Montarin is the Briceran Military Special Projects Supervisor, reporting directly to the Overlord. 

During his prime Ty Montarin was senior coordinator of the Royal Guard of Bricera and a close friend to the late Briceran Overlord Sorrin Vaylon. Although often arguing against Vaylon's attempts to maintain a moderate course towards the rival Khisar clan, he yet supported his friend's decisions. The news of Vaylon's murder hit him hard, especially as it came with the realization that he had been right all the time, yet had not succeeded in convincing his friend, blaming his failure for Vaylon's death.

With Vaylon's son Jarris taking over the Briceran throne, Montarin found himself faced with a new position and new challenges: Overseeing Bricera's military's R&D department and as such supervising the development, construction and testing of new weapon and starship prototypes, he would make sure, such a disaster would never strike his home again. His greatest achievement would arguably turn out to be the six Diamond-class orbital space Stations.

With construction was finished, he was by his own request given command over Bridesta 1. For ten years the mighty space station was an impenetrable bastion defending Bricera and scaring off any potential aggressors from even trying. When the Dhilani arrived at Bricera in 2530 UST, Bridesta 1 faced its first - and last - battle.

Barely escaping the station and going through the process of reorganization Ty is put in command of Starlight station, one of the five remaining Diamond Stations. During the Battle for Bricera he and his creations show their real value by a demonstration of strength and literal durability.
